Spotabookslut

Don't ask me why I draw these kind of pictures. I just do.

There are so many words and phrases in the English language that I love. Book Slut is way up there. Just something about how it rolls off the tongue. Wonder how Nabokov would describe the word.

My question this time is a two-parter. First, am I missing any vital characteristics of a Book Slut? What would you add?

And more importantly, are you a Book Slut?
(Sorry fellas, you are included in this; I'm just too damn lazy to draw up a male Book Slut).

You've done it again, Patricia. A great job! I'm afraid we see a differently attired bookslut in our Cape Cod bookshops. Lots of painfully plain and sloppily attired types with too much long gray hair, male and female.

I am a Book Slut, I match most of your character there except that I have a bob in a headband and I wear jeans so I can easily sit or kneel on the dusty floors of little hole-in-the-wall used book shops or at B&N with my coffee.
Love your "Tart" comic. I had coffee out the nose syndrome when I stumbled across it after the C&L escapade.

Not a redhead, huh? One difference between the sexes: no one has ever, ever, ever told me that my glasses make me look sexier.

Very helpful drawing, Patricia! You've pointed out all the details that the healthy male would overlook, while giving him plenty of reason to do so.

I love it! Booksluts of the world unite!

Ahhh, but RJ, the intelligent healthy male would be overwhelmed with the Book Slut's essential details, and would only notice the 'added extras' once he has been cast by her BiblioSpell.

I am not a BookSlut although I am under the BiblioSpell of one. BookSluts are hot. Does that make me a BookSlutLuster? Your drawing is making me feel kind of tingly, which is problematic since I'm at work.

Ooh can we have that on a t-shirt?! I love it! Count me in as a BookSlut.

The male version would probably look like a no-shower-for-three-weeks-in-August Jack Black. Which none of us, male or female, wants to see.

Oh, I don't know. I think Jack Black's kinda cute.

I like my men scruffy and messy.

That's almost perfect. 'Cept I couldn't possibly crawl around the bookshop floor or lounge in a Starbucks chair in a dress like that. And I'd get muffin crumbs in my cleavage.

Can we have a male please? I bet he'd be my perfect man. (I'm thinking more geeky than sweaty, although I like Jack Black too.)

Love this. I'd pay for a t-shirt with this illo!!!!

Yes I am! This is lovely! :o)

Too cute! I ditto Debbie's comment ;)

I absolutely love this! I want it on a t-shirt!!!!

Just think of all the T-shirt sales to forty something bookclubs. Make it a beachcoverup or nightshirt to forgive the reading instead of exercising guilt.

I would love to share this image with the world! Please, please sell this as a t-shirt!

Oh my god, you are awesome, I'm a total bookslut right down to the black rimmed frames and the coffee. Slap that illustration on a tshirt and I have presents for half my family.

You illustrated, but did not note, the short skirt which allows her to kneel and reach the bottom shelves, the high heels that help her reach the top ones, and the cleavage that distracts other shoppers when she's bent over the sale table.

Book SLUT/LUST... something about those 4 letters perhaps..

thanks for my new desktop!

My goodness me what did you do???
They were my friends'husbands..we knew they were gone but so far away!!!what a surprise!!

the previous comment refers to the story two bees or not two bees and i wrote : you mustn't eat enough

I love it!
I would be the bobbed blonde without the glasses, blue eyes, in a black v neck fitted sweater and black pants. The female Johnny Cash of the book sluts.
I am currently reading the Alphabetical Life and loving it! I want to read the inheritance of loss next I hear I will relate well to it - being an orphan and a book lover!
