Thanks for recommending "Stop That Girl." It sat in my pile until just the right moment and then was consumed in a few swallows. But I have a question. The narrator would be between forty-five and fifty now, unless I'm completely misreading the markers. Whose photo is that on the jacket?

You mean the author photo? That's her, Elizabeth McKenzie. She's quite fetching, don't you think? Perhaps I'm misreading the markers, but I assumed the character was a bit younger, late thirties, early forties at the very most.

On another note, so glad to see you posting. I hope this means you are feeling in fine form.

Not sure if I like the 'R' in Richard. Its the only part of the text thats a different color.

Yes I am judging a book by its cover.

Being the author, I can tell you about the cover image, which I love, too! (The Happy Booker kindly sent me this posting.) It's from a photo by Amy Freeth, and the cover is designed by Archie Ferguson, from Pantheon Books and the Knopf group. As for me, I love the "R" in the Richard! But, then again, I'm Richard...

Three cheers for The Happy Booker for sending you here! The cover is exquisite, and I'm sure the novel is even more so. And designed by Archie Ferguson? He is one of the book-designing greats; how wonderful for you. And I love the "R", too.

Thanks for dropping by!
