Stephanie Sez...

Stephintoronto

Well after much cajoling, nagging and begging, I have finally managed to convince Stephanie my niece to write a blog entry on her experiences here for the past week, in the big city of Toronto. The rest of this post has been written by my now city-slicker niece (though I did try and correct any spelling errors!) Oh, and yes, this drawing is by the famous artiste, Stephanie, herself. And if you're wondering what the heck that thing is there resting by her foot, it's Stephanie's rendering of a Java Chip frappuccino, something which she consumed with alarming frequency while in the big city.

Somebody wanted me to write a blog entry, and I've been harrassed by Auntie Trish, so you better sit down and read!

Well you know quite a bit about me now. That's a terrible picture of me, by the way (the one from the previous post). The first thing I said to my Aunt was, "How dare you!" (I was kidding, of course). I haven't written a blog entry before, so I'm an amateur, but I'll try my best!

I was born and raised in Burlington Ontario, in 1992, to my parents, Margaret and Gerry. I was born with a nose problem, so I couldn't breathe (something called "blah blah blah"Stonosis). Doctors eventually had to drill a bone out of my nose. Then when my teeth grew in they found I had a single central (only one front tooth in the middle). So that's caused a bunch of problems, and I have to go to Sick Kids for orthodontics.

In 1997 my life changed. Colin and Alyssa were born, my twin brother and sister. They do bug me a lot, but hey, what are little brothers and sisters for!

Ok, enough history, time for the present. I have spent this week with Aunti Trish and Uncle Guy. It's been interesting. Aunt Patricia was always taking me somewhere, and Uncle Guy was always rambling on about something informative.

On the first day when my Dad dropped me off, Aunt Trish and I went to the Ukranian Festival in the Bloor West Village. I bought some sun glasses and looked around. Sunday we went to the Busker Festival and the Distillery District. There was an acrobatic couple at the Busker Festival who were really funny. Monday we went to the Royal Ontario Museum to look at Feathered Dinosaurs. That was interesting. Tuesday we went to the Eaton Centre and walked down Yonge Street (I got a fab vest and a hoodie). Wednesday we saw the movie The Wedding Crashers. It was very amusing. Afterwards we visited Nathan Phillips Square, ate Italian hotdogs and fed the pidgeons. Thursday I went to the Bata Shoe Museum and Harbourfront. Friday we went to the Art Gallery of Ontario and Chinatown. It was fun.

Overall, Toronto is still a place with many unknown stories and secrets (at least for me) and many more fun-filled adventures lay ahead for me!

p.s. I am never writing a blog entry again! (Just kidding).

Stephanie, Thanks for the report. It's nice to get to know you a little.

I was interested in your story about your front tooth because I have something similar (although mine doesn't sound as serious as yours and I never had to get any treatment for it). On the bottom front teeth, most people have four teeth between the pointy ones. I only have three. When I was a kid I was embarrassed by it sometimes (even though it's not noticeable at all!), but now that I'm an adult I think it's kind of cool. Everytime I go to the dentist they look in my mouth and say, "Oh, you're that guy!" and the dental assistant always messes up her numbering and has to start over. Ha!

I tell people that it's my superpower mutation: like, Wolverine got super healing ability and claws, Spider-Man got the powers of a spider, and I got three teeth in front instead of four. I'm a mutant with the world's most useless superpower.

I live in California and would really like to visit Toronto someday. I hope you enjoy it!

What a busy time you've had in Toronto! And what a lot of links you've worked in!

That's a pretty great drawing there. Thanks for sending greetings from your trip.

I cannot begin to express how tired I am. I have the upmost respect for all parents.

Stephanie has head home now. Time for a drink or two!

What a busy schedule! No wonder you are exhausted, aunt trish! Thanks for sharing your Toronto adventures, TrIsh.

Sorry, meant Stephanie. One should not comment when extremely exhausted having spent a day entertaining a 4 years old brat.

4? 14, no? Great blog entry Stephanie!

I think someone has a great future in writing: it was great fun to come along on your journey of discovery, Stephanie. I do hope you'll consider writing more in future - either on your aunt's blog, or on your own.

Stephanie you are a girl after my own heart. There is fabulous clothes to be had at Eaton Centre and Younge Street. You've put me in the mood for shopping again. I'm glad you had a swell time!

Thanks for the report Stephanie, and I loved your drawing.

I really enjoyed your first blog post. It was informative, entertaining and reminds me why I'm glad I'm no longer a teenager.

Kidding!

You're a very articulate and lovely young lady.

And I'm not fond of my younger sister and brother at times either.
