"Everything must go." But why?
Good luck - and it's a good thing you bought a house to store your book collection.

I'm not sure why Robin's doing this, Beth. I know she's an artist who specializes in creative work associated with books (I've met her). I'm assuming this is part of one of her latest big creative projects. I'm very curious.
Re: the house. I must be totally nuts, 'cuz our house is already close to being full to the brim with books!

There is something so sad about this. Of course if she is doing it for some creative pursuit it is not quite as sad, but I couldn't imagine giving up my entire collection of books.

As I said, Carl, I'm very curious. If I get a chance to talk to Robin when I go, I'll see if I can get some specific answers as to her motivation behind this major 'book culling'.

Painful reading! I'd like to leave my entire library intact, to some bright teenager who was starting out. Sooner or later, most of my books would be discarded, but it would be an organic process.
Imagine the snappy little Internet test that would match donors with recipients!

I posted about this today too! As a piece of performance art it doesn't make much sense to me but I admire her obvious wish to simplify her life while spreading joy to the bookish masses. I'm going to try and get out to this as well but since I can't go this weekend I wonder if there will be any books left.

I meant to go to the opening on Saturday but then I completely forgot about it. I look forward to your report!
