Beth of BooksEtc. has inspired me! Earlier today she created a delightful sketch of her 'morning look'. I enjoyed her drawing so much, I felt compelled to follow suit.
And so here I am, in all my morning glory. What? You were expecting a sexy negligee and bon bon slippers? You've got the wrong lady, kiddo.
Anyone else out there feeling creative? C'mon, have some fun, and do a quick drawing of yourself! I'd love to see it!
UPDATE:
My pal Sandra Bell-Lundy of Between Friends fame has kindly contributed to the Morning Gallery! Fabulous! C'mon! Pick up a pencil and have some fun!

UPDATE 2: Another cartoon pal has joined the fun! Thanks to Michael McDonnell for his morning smile! Cheers, Michael!
You and Sandra put my sketch to shame!
I didn't even draw my dog (admittedly, that would have been an enormous challenge) or the morning paper. Damn.
But I take heart — I was the inspiration, the muse...

I look pretty much the same at this moment. Yeah, even the hair.

I have to get up at 6 am - and I REALLY don't like getting up before the sun does. I couldn't resist an opportunity to visualize my angst.

those two cats at your ankles have personality, you can just see it in their faces. What are their names, and which one is smiling?

Maggie is smiling; she's a delightful dark gray tabby, blessed with the personality of an angel. Her brother Hamish, aka, The Prince of Darkness, is the one looking rather perplexed.
