Town Crier Interview
Here's an interview I had recently with Lorianna De Giorgio, the Arts & Entertainment reporter for the Town Crier. I've scanned the interview and photo, and cut and paste it so it can fit on the blog properly. I was pretty nervous about the interview, because talking to someone in person is quite different from taking the time to write out one's answers via email. I have a tendency to ramble and blather and generally not make sense, but Lorianna is obviously a professional, because she made me sound way more interesting than I really am!

Great interview and terrific photo!

Nice picture. Are you Lithuanian?
I kid. It's a terrific article, and I could really see you doing interesting work in animation. Your style and characters would be naturals for it. Good job!

The sub editor's done a nice caption - funny woman indeed!! I jest! ;)
Great interview and piccie. How big is this newspaper?

... 'big' as in circulation-wise rather than size wise...

I'm going to look for a copy! (Used to be delivered.)
What a wonderful interview - and you look great!

Thanks, everyone. It's not a bad photo, is it? I've certainly had worse! I just look a little bit too 'posed' in my opinion, but it's hard to look natural in shots like that.
Beth, I'll save you a copy, if you like, and mail it to you. It's the Bloor West edition of the Town Crier, so you won't be able to find it in your neck of the woods (there are many neighbourhood editions).
Kim, I'm not exactly sure of the numbers for circulation. Possibly in it's entirety, the Town Crier's numbers are in the hundreds of thousands, but each neighbourhood paper might have a circulation in the tens of thousands – but that is really only a guess.

Great interview. It's good to see you getting some well-deserved attention! An animated series would be so cool.

Great interview Patricia - Congratulations.
But I am curious about the book on the table in front of you - thats NOT in the right sidebar. The one that has (what look like) penguins on the cover.
Is that a new book you've done and not told us? So what is it called, and where can we find it?

And may you, we pray, never be "tamed."
You are a hoot.

Hi Patricia:
I believe you are a very talented individual, I can see you developing your own successful T.V. series and I wish you the best of luck but I also think you should look closely at aligning yourself with the music industry as well, if you haven't already. I would love to meet with you and share any contacts (at no charge) that would help move you forward within your writing and illustration career. I love the fact that you are from Winnipeg, a wild Westerner, that gives you a wonderful creative (sometimes offbeat) outlook. I'm from Moose Jaw, Sask., originally, residing in Mississauga for many years and I possess that same outlook.."Aint...it grand?" Let's connect sometime soon. Please call Mary Ellen Koroscil at: (905) 823-9174 or e-mail me at: mekm@rogers.com the world will be your oyster!
