I so feel that vibe, too. I sat in front of the TV last night with my laptop open, Twittering and Facebooking the entire time. It blew me away how many people were doing the same thing - and how fast the updates flew back and forth. It was a wonderful thing to be a part of.
I, too, was a big Nader fan. But last night he stepped on a landmine. My admiration of him took a massive hit. Deets on my blog...I just posted some wrapup thoughts on it.

I think the whole world is feeling the HOPE that this election has given. That's what I'm feeling at least. Before, it was old boy war crap, doom and gloom, backwards thinking and stepping.
Perhaps I'm (we) are reading too much into this election, after all, a politician is a politician and a President has his hands tied at times but it is a MAJOR step in the right direction!

At this moment Chris, all we have is hope. We have no idea what Obama will do once he is sworn into office. He could royally screw up; disappoint his citizens; have a tryst with an intern in the oval office – who knows? For the moment, the energy and enthusiasm that is engulfing the world is, I think, symbolic. But we should never underestimate the power of symbolism, and what it can do to alter a person's or a nation's or a world's point of view. And right now, the US really, really needs a different persepctive.

As of January 20, 2009, the Democratic Party will control the Presidency, the House of Representatives and the Senate of the United States of America. Members of the Democratic Party who hold elected office have been given a unique opportunity to validate the faith of their followers by putting into practice everything they claim to believe in – not just for the people of the United States, but for people everywhere who have a stake in the political and economic well being of America.
Obstruction of legitimate reform can now only come from within the Democratic Party itself.
There will no excuse for failure.
