If yer interested, there's an article in the June issue of Miss Chatelaine, and I'm in it (p107, 'Living on less and loving it!'). No, it's not about cartooning or kid's books. It's actually about how regular folk (am I regular folk? Hmmm...) are coping in this not-so-pleasant recession. Yes, it's true – in spite of all the great news that has been happening to me of late, I'm still struggling to stretch a dollar in these "tough economic times" as every bloody media outlet seems to be saying these days. So how am I coping during this recession? Well, you'll have to read the article to find out! ;)
UPDATE: Ha ha – I suppose that I am being a naughty tease. I'll post the last paragraph of the article, because it honours my relationship with my husband Guy, and I'm quite proud of that:
As Storms says, "I wonder sometimes, if you have too much of everything, do you really value anything? My husband and I get great pleasure out of each other's company, simple meals and the occasional treat. You don't need to have expensive toys to have a great life."
What a teaser!

Bought it, read it, loved it, bragged about you and passed it along to a friend.
You – regular folk?
I’m pondering that one. ;-)

Hear, hear. I've been living in recession mode pretty much all my adult life. It never ceases to amaze me how many people who own a car in a city complain about not having enough money.

Wow!
I remember you telling me of this, at Greenjeans.
Please forgive my early-onset Alzheimer's, I saw the cover of this very magazine the other day at Chapters and failed to look inside.
I shall do so, next time!
Have you ever heard the song by k.d. lang called "Miss Chatelaine"?
It's gorgeous.

Well then I just might have to buy a copy.

I read your starring piece and agree with you completely! My sister and I were talking about how the recession really hasn't changed our lifestyles -- we've always been frugal by necessity! ;)
