Here's a taste of what you will see if you come to my Pirate & Penguin book launch, this Saturday September 12th, 2-5pm at the Yorkville Library Branch!
And...these adorable characters will also be working it at Toronto's Word on the Street, Sunday September 27th. My husband Guy and I will be performing a silly skit based on the book at the Children's Reading Tent, from 2:00-2:30pm. I'll also be doing a little cartooning demonstration after our play.
And finally, Guy and I will also be performing at McNally Robinson on Sunday October 18th, at 3:00pm.
Because you can never have too much Pirate & Penguin in your life!
I LOVE the cut-out characters...what are they made of? Foamcore? What did you colour them with? How did you make them stand? Where did you get that great tan? . . .

Yes, made of foam core board.
Coloured with various colours of poster paint.
To make the characters stand, I taped triangle-shaped pieces of foam core strips behind them, and it worked like a charm!
I've been spending a LOT of time out in the garden, and of course, power walking pretty much every morning, and I had one amazing weekend in Muskoka – that probably explains the tan! (and the fact that I am half Jamaican, mon!)
