I LOVE the cut-out characters...what are they made of? Foamcore? What did you colour them with? How did you make them stand? Where did you get that great tan? . . .

patricia

All these questions, Sandra!!

Yes, made of foam core board.

Coloured with various colours of poster paint.

To make the characters stand, I taped triangle-shaped pieces of foam core strips behind them, and it worked like a charm!

I've been spending a LOT of time out in the garden, and of course, power walking pretty much every morning, and I had one amazing weekend in Muskoka – that probably explains the tan! (and the fact that I am half Jamaican, mon!)

Too cute! I love them.

I came across your blog by sheer accident while googling the word, "yiddish." (google directed me to your post on "The Joys of Yiddish.")I want to tell you that I love your penguins and I love what you do!

Thank you, Davina! I'm enjoying your blog, too!

Thank you so much for your kind words! i think most writers and artists share a common bond. we've all been miserable, and doubtful about our craft at some point in our life. But we keep on keepin' on!
