Just exactly what is a bibs and a bobs? And where the heck did that expression come from, anyway? These questions keep me awake at night, ya know. You know what also keeps me awake at night? Looming deadlines and the thought of presenting in front of people. You'd think that after all this time, having done my fair share of presenting in front of folks, that I would no longer experience anxiety over this stuff, but, nah, I'm just as whacked out and neurotic as the first time I ever stood up in front of an audience. And the deadlines? Well, what would I rather have, stress of no work, or too much work? Can this gal ever be happy? Oy.
And all this stress is happening during one of my favourite months! Sweet, sweet September– how I love you. I want to wrap my arms around your cool, crisp, bittersweet blusteriness (is that a word? Yes? No? Well, too bad if it ain't – if Sarah Palin can make up words, then so can I, dammit, and don't you dare refudiate that).
Ok, so what's going on this month? Well, on Sunday September 19th, I'll be reading at the Eden Mills Writers' Festival, and I'm very excited (and nervous) about that! I'll be reading (and drawing, of course!) at 1:10pm, so I hope I see some familiar faces there! On Sunday September 26th at 9:00am, I'll be giving a little interview on the Guelph radio program Kids' Time, CFRU radio, 93.3 FM. And what else happens on Sunday September 26th? Why, Word on the Street, of course! This year I'm very fortunate to be one of the hosts who will get to introduce all the amazing talent at the Children's Reading Tent. I'll be hosting from 11:30am - 2:20pm, and the creative line-up this year is pretty astounding, so don't miss it! And finally, on Oct 1st (yeah, yeah, I know, technically that ain't September, but just play along with me on this, ok?) the hubby and I will be yet again performing The Pirate and Penguin Play at the Oakwood Village Library and Arts Centre. I'm not sure of the time yet, but will post it as soon as I know.
Oy, the September stress! Ok, enough kvetching. I gotta go draw me some birdies. Tawk amongst yourselves.
