Pirate Girls Just Wanna Have Fun

Arrrr! Here I be, signing Pirate & Penguin books at the fun-filled piratey Victoria Day event. 'Twas a glorious day, and I met lots of fine little friendly pirates.

Snowy Sneak Peek!

Yes, I realize that nobody wants to think about winter and snow right now, but…too bad. You can’t catch cold from looking at a drawing, ok? And think about how I felt, drawing all these darn snow scenes, when all I wanted to think about was spring and sunshine and ice cream trucks. But wait! There’s ice cream on the cover of this book! How cool is that? Hee hee.

Anyway, here’s the cover for an upcoming book I illustrated for the fantabulous Scholastic Canada. Snowy Science will be available in November 2011, which like, seems like a lifetime from now, especially since we haven’t even gotten to summer yet. Oh, and I just wanted to mention that though drawing lots of snow scenes may not have been my most fave thing to do, there is nothing quite so enjoyable as drawing quirky pets and kooky scientists!

Arrrr Ya Ready for All Things Pirate this Victoria Day?

Sure ya be, matey, if ya know what's good fer ya! Cuz on Victoria Day, Monday May 23rd, at Toronto's Waterfront, in  the Queen's Quay Terminal Building, thar be lots of pirate-themed fun to be had, including yours truly at the Owlkids table, signing Pirate & Penguin books! And you can also get yer photo taken with that scallywag Chirp, and thar be plenty of good booty – free bookmarks and magazines while they last!
